vBCMS Portal/CMS FAQ

First Installation
  • 1. Edit the file /upload/vbcms_location.php and enter an absolute path to your forum [More].

    2. Upload all files from /upload and /upload/forum to your forum root folder.

    3. Add/Import Product vbcms.xml from here: AdminCP ==> Plugins & Products ==> Manage Products

    4. You need to change 2 options. First, change to the ACP ==> vBCMS Maintenance ==> vBCMS Options ==> Global Options and enter the "Path to your forum". Second, enter "Path to your vBCMS", if your forum is installed in a sub-directory, and your vBCMS is installed outside of your forum folder. Additionally you need to go to the Module Options ==> News-Module. Select some forums, in order to display them on your portal.

    5. This is your last step. Visit your AdminCP ==> Usergroups to adapt the user rights. Save. Your vBCMS is ready now.

Update
  • 1. Upload all files (except the file /upload/vbcms_location.php) from your /upload folder/archive to your web server.

    2. Go to your AdminCP and add/import the file vbcms.xml: Admincp ==> Plugins & Products ==> Manage Products ==> Add/Import Product. The option 'Allow Overwrite' must be selected.

    3. If you changed your Templates of the Portal/CMS before, these were probably updated. You need to revert your Templates or you need to edit your Templates manually.

    4. If you've changed Templates within your Portal/CMS, these are possibly not updated. Please revert your Templates or edit your Templates manually.

  • Update of vBEasy

    1. After the vBCMS installation, all Templates beginning with "Portal_", must be reverted into the original state. Hit "Revert" in the style options to do this.

    2. Open this link from your AdminCP "http://www.ihredomain.de/forum/admincp/vbeasy_to_vbcms.php" and accomplish the import. This is needed, if you have created sides before.
